It is up to the Managers to make sure there are no toasters or toaster ovens in the units. Any that are around need to be taken home or confiscated.

Quality – Statewide quality is around 91%. PC4 is at 90.8% and sinking toward 90.6%. We need to keep plugging away.

Items from Teleconference

Edib Update – There have been discussions with SSA and we basically have reached an impasse with them. We want to do it one way, and they want to do it another. It looks like this system won’t get started in Albany until summer.

CTI – Have started taking calls from Manhattan and being sent to Albany. The current estimate for our 800 number to be turned over is mid February. One of the difficulties they have had is with the individual voice mails – either the voice mail box is full or analysts aren’t returning the calls. Voice mail has to be checked and phone calls returned on a regular basis.

Quality and the analysts’ evaluations – We will have the numbers ready by this afternoon.

There is no change in information about workload.

There is some concern statewide about how overtime hours are being reported.

A two-week timecard should be starting in January.

MRO – Make sure we are properly balancing selections.

We have sent 50 Recons to Manhattan and 50 Initial advices to Albany to help relieve our Medical Review backlog.

SLC 7 should not be used by anybody on any cases.

Electric equipment in work area – There are to be no TV’s in the work place. They must all go home by Friday. There are also no personal laptops, toasters, or toaster ovens allowed.

The PIC met yesterday – a number of ideas come out of it. Remind analysts to put the Medical Consultant PIN on the 831. When the analysts have an address change for a claimant, they need to let Clerical know so the change can be put in the Federal system. The minutes of this meeting will be sent to all staff.

High risk returns – A mechanism needs to be set up so that we hold case conferences on some of these cases.

There is a significant backlog with cases waiting for advice. Managers need to look at the 232’s before they go to Med Review.

There are some questions regarding case backlogs. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of cases to account for a 5-week delay.

Barb Stanko and Lucille Brocato attended the SAC meeting on Tuesday, 12/7. A copy of the notes from this meeting is attached. If there are any questions, contact Barb or Lucille.

If you send a 232 and if comes back to you with advice you don’t like or have questions, go back to the physician who gave the advice. Then if there is no resolution, take it to Fred and deal with it from there.

There will be a Lunch-N-Learn on Tuesday, 12/14/04 from 12:00 – 12:30 in the 3rd Floor Training Room. Dr. Morog will talk about Intermittent Explosive Disorder.

Disability topics will be held Wednesday, December 15 from 9:00–10:00 AM and 1:00–2:00 PM. One person from each unit needs to attend.

The Holiday party is next Thursday, 12/16. Mark will check to see how many cases will be handed out. There will be no overtime the day of the party.

Sandi, Nancy, and Dee are working on the new keyboards today.

We are going to a 24/7 Security Guard. Remind staff they are not to be in the building after 6:30 PM.

Next Tuesday, the proximity card readers are to be installed. The new cards are to be handed out within the next couple days.
