Questions and Answers Regarding the Tentative Agreement

When will the ballot be mailed to us ?

The ballots have been mailed. They were mailed October 18th and October 19th.

Q  What if I do not receive a ballot ?

A  If you do not receive a ballot by October 26th, please call American Arbitration Association [AAA] at 1-800-529-5218 to receive another.

Q  When do I have to have my ballot in by ?

All ballots must be in by November 2nd and will be counted by AAA on November 3rd.

Q It says in the tentative agreement that we will be reimbursed for all 9 days of furlough [DRL].  When does that happen ?

The 9 days of furlough will be repaid to active employees over 39 pay periods [18 months] beginning in Mach 2015. [This is one year earlier than previously agreed]

What if I leave state service prior to March 2015 ?  Will I be reimbursed for my 9 days of furlough ?

Yes you will receive a lump sum payment upon separation of state service or if you retire prior to March 2015.

If I am a grade 18 now and I become a grade 23 before March 2015, will I be repaid for the 9 furlough days at the grade 23 salary ?

No, the repayment of the 9 furlough days will be the exact amount that was taken from your pay check when you were a grade 18.

Q When I will get the 9 furlough days [DRL] added to my time off ?

Upon ratification of the tentative agreement, employees will be credited with 9 days of DRL time.

Q How long do I have to use these 9 days of DRL ?

A Employees will have the ability to use these days over the remainder of Fiscal years 2011-2012 and through fiscal year 2012-2013 [March 31, 2013].

Q Do the 9 days of DRL [furlough days] affect my pension or final average salary ?

A NO !!!  This is different from the previous tentative agreement.
