ANALYST II STANDARDS REVISED

Below are the Analyst II Standards that have been revised thus far.  

The part that is in BOLD and UNDERLINED is being removed.

STANDARDS FOR ANALYST II UNDER PROTOTYPE

 

1. Work is generally accurate

To be rated satisfactory in this factor, employee must achieve accuracy of at least 91.6%

in all case types. Supervisors will evaluate accuracy and developmental practices based on an end of line review of not less than 10 cases per month per staff member, counting concurrent cases as one case. Although errors in all areas will be identified and corrected, only SPAR-type errors as outlined in POMS section DI 30005.121 will be counted in computing accuracy

Below is the approved language:

To be rated satisfactory in this factor, employees accuracy in all case types should reasonably approximate the average PC accuracy for that period. The analyst’s accuracy is determined from a sample of approximately 75-80 high Risk Cases and CQA's sampling, counting concurrent cases as one case. Although errors in all areas will be identified and corrected, only Group I Deficiency type errors as outlined in POMS section DI 30005.121 will be counted in computing accuracy.

 

2. Developmental Practices

4. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and relationships

 

To be rated satisfactory in this factor, an employee must relate well to claimants, the medical community, the general public and in-house staff, demonstrating good service attitude toward claimants.

 

A. Tactfully and persuasively elicit information from the medical community through telephone and written contacts.

 

 

 

 

B. Demonstrate tact and cooperation in dealing with claimants and co-workers.

 

5. General Requirements

5. To be rated satisfactory in this factor, an employee

 

A. Identifies problem situations and refers to supervisors for corrective action

 

B. Takes appropriate steps to process fiscal documents on a timely and accurate basis Correctly applies all procedures and instructions.

 

C. Makes effective use of caseload controls which are maintained properly.

 

D. May be assigned to assist Medical Relations Officer in resolving problems, working with providers of medical evidence, overseeing the CE process and handling field activities.

6. Prototype Processing

 

6. To be rated satisfactory in this category, an employee must:

 

A. Prepare physical and mental functional capacity assessment forms (PRTF, MRFC) in an accurate, detailed and programmatic manner.

 

B. Hold claimant conferences via telephone or in person in a tactful and sensitive manner, explaining the process and definitions, insuring all appropriate and available information is obtained.

 

C. Prepare case rationales in sufficient detail to appropriately support the decision.

 

 

D. Act as a single decision maker, utilize medical consultant staff as needed and required by statute
