PEF Executive Board

The Executive Board consisting of 130 members that represent the members from every state agency, in every region of the state - meets at least quarterly.  The President, Secretary-Treasurer, Vice Presidents, Regional Coordinators and the Executive Board Representatives elected by the members from t he state agencies, private sector and municipal institutions make up the PEF Executive Board.  Each agency has one board member for the first 500 members, a second board member when the constituency exceeds 750 but is 1000 or less, a third board member when the constituency exceeds 1250 members but is 1500 or less, etc.  A 1984 constitutional amendment requires each board member to represent a specific constituency in a  state agency or facility.

The Executive Board's duties include setting the policy for this union between Conventions, interpreting the Constitution, the Special Rules of Order and all policies, approving the annual budget, the quarterly financial reports and acting upon expenditures and transfers which may require modification of the budget, recommending a Legislative Agenda to the Convention, and reviewing and approving or disapproving the complete text of all collective bargaining agreements between PEF and any employer.  Only approved agreements are then submitted to the appropriate membership for ratification pursuant to Article VI.D.17.
